Wow! Firstly, welcome to Wow Wednesdays. Every Wednesday we will be uploading an update on what we feel here at Young fits into the ‘Wow’ category. That may be projects we are working on or things generally that we feel are amazing and engaging. We should also say at this point that there will be a song attached at the bottom of these posts that we feel sums up that particular Wow Wednesday. The idea is that you play the song and read on, in the time that you’ve listened to the song you’ve read the post. Here’s the song, Donovan and Colours We know you get it, either way, we think it’ll make interesting reading.
So, this week we wanted to talk briefly about colour and how something so simple can be used in endless ways to create endless effective, engaging results.
Colour can make you feel, react and do a whole number of things and scarily, it is usually is in a subliminal level! Ooh err. For example, Green can make a viewer relaxed, Black communicates power and Yellow positivity but on a deeper level it’s how colours can be used to communicate a stronger visual link to a message.
Recently a guy called Scott Thrift in the US designed an annual clock, the clock takes a whole year to complete a full rotation and at the correct points of the year the clock reflects the current seasonal colours. The use of colour represents that elusive feeling of being in ‘the now’ which is why Scott’s project is called ‘The Present’. Enjoy the video!

This has cheered me up on a dreary Wednesday, thanks
Kerri
