Learn Something Every Day is one of our self-initiated projects that was launched in August 2009, inspired by a pub conversation with the aim of promoting our then-two-month-old agency. The concept revolves around us uploading a quirky doodle of a lesser-known fact submitted by one of our visitors to the website every day.
Within two weeks of launching the site, we were registering over 10,000 visits a day from all over the world. Soon after, emails were coming in from publishing houses eager to turn the project into physical formats. Due to the high interest, our little project went to auction with many major publishing houses bidding for the worldwide rights, and we ultimately signed with Penguin Books.
From it's humble beginnings, the project has opened many doors for Young: we've seen the project take over the walls of galleries in Europe, been interviewed for various radio shows and magazines, and have picked up one or two industry awards along the way. In January 2011, we launched a free iPhone application for the project -within its first week over 50,000 apps were downloaded.
